the post about the blessing of the stuffed animals
this morning, during preschool chapel, it occurred to me that i can bless stuffed animals without anyone blinking an eye and yet the bishop here does not allow me to bless the relationships of same sex couples in committed relationships.
ha! it'd be like a teddy bear picnic all grown-up.
i also wondered if should have made sure that all the kids had opposite sex stuffed animals. "billy, that's not a boy teddy bear, is it?" (of course it is. they're of that age).
I also have to say that I'm trying to imagine APBS leading pre-school chapel. Do you wear your sassy shoes, or do you pull out the jumper and clogs? I be preschool chapel is hilarious. I love preschoolers.
i don't own a jumper and clogs, so i guess that answers that. it's pretty funny; i actually like it. preschool chapel IS hilarious things. i've learned a lot, too; i had no idea the huge HUGE difference between 2-3-4 year olds. it's like light years, developmentally.
I'm from the southern US, a region with which I have a love/hate relationship. I majored in Economics and International Studies in college, all set to join the world of management consulting. Brief yet somewhat intense crises of meaning while studying and traveling led me on a somewhat screwy journey that somehow resulted in my becoming a priest in the Episcopal Church. My posts are merely a slice of what's going on in my head and nothing more; in other words, my opinions cannot and should not be considered to be those of my congregation, my religious tradition, or my friends and family.

Amen, sister!
i'm imagining you officiating at a wedding of two gay teddy bears. that's not what you meant though, right?
